MIGRATIONS, Great & SMall
This Spring collection has been a concentration on resurfacing and the theme of migrations, both great and small: needed change that comes, welcome and unwanted alike; freedom found through suffering and grace gifted in the daily working out of the complexity of our spirits. When we do come up for air (intermittently and finally) we see that we’ve traveled so far in some ways and shifted almost undetectably, but quite importantly, in others. In this body of paintings there are swaths of pigment in the forms it chose to settle, mark making that’s gentle here, abrasive there, harmonious shades of water and night — forces of transformation and surrender.
